RW Blears recently advised Cornerstone (as lead investor), Exceptional Ventures, and the Conduit EIS Impact Fund on their investment in Gladys' £1.5 million seed round, which also saw participation from Embryo Ventures, Ufi Ventures and Houghton Street Ventures.

Gladys is an innovative AI-driven home care platform designed to support the UK’s home care sector by connecting families and individuals in need of care directly with trusted, vetted local carers. By removing intermediaries, Gladys aims to enhance both the quality and affordability of domiciliary care. The platform has already facilitated tens of thousands of hours of care and plans to establish a national presence by the end of 2026.

Rodney Appiah of Cornerstone commented, “Rising care costs, an overstretched social care system, and the demands of daily life can leave families feeling guilty and stretched thin as they think about their elderly loved ones. That’s why I’m thrilled to back George and Alex as they build Gladys, a managed social care platform that makes it easy to find and book trusted caregivers and companions.”

The RW Blears team was led by Adam Lawrence led, with support from Bethany Johnson.
